Running water would be nice right about now...

well...i started writing this blog last night but then got way too tired and didnt think i was making much sense, so im going to try again.

since last week i began to write down different things i want to blog about. I found myself bored in class and thinking of great "blogging topics," so i took out some scrap paper and started making a list. But now I've lost it. I was sad because I had some great things to say. So I will just have to try and remember everything.

Today marks yet another day that we are out of school. Snow has been off and on the past few days but it hasnt really accumulated. Yesterday my roommate and I went sledding with some of our friends. It was great! I like to think of it as "extreme sledding" (the word "extreme" makes everything sound a little bit more, oh, i dont know, hard core?) Basically, we hooked up two sleds to the back of a ranger and were pulled all over the place. Think of tubing on a lake, now picture it on some major hills. I "wiped out" so hard one time, and took a cute little 5 year old girl with me. I felt really bad. Haha, but it was awesome. There's a video on facebook, if I can figure out how to post videos on here I may just post it. I still have whip lash from it. :)

After a great day of sledding, I came back to some microwave soup (organic of course haha) and bible study, and then went to work out. After a sweaty work out, I walked back in 12 degree weather, dreaming of warm shower. But much to my dismay, there was a note posted on the door saying that the water pipes were frozen and no water was running. It has now been almost 24 hours, we still have no water, it has been interesting. Last night there were about 5 of us in the bathroom with water bottles, brushing our teeth and washing our faces. I've been trying really hard to have a good attitude about it (I told my roommate we should embrace it and just enjoy not showering for the next few days) but its getting more and more frustrating.

And so to combat my frustration, I have taken some drastic measures. And by drastic measures I mean, I decided that blogging about my day and listening to good music could help me de-frustrate. I stole the new Fray Cd from a friend and decided that I'm going to have to listen to it a few times to see if I really like it...I just feel like it sounds exactly like their old stuff.

Anyways, minus the whole havent showered feeling, I did have a great day. Woke up late, went to lunch with my new potential roommates for next semester, and then went to an "impromptu concert" that my friend Jamie had in the lobby of the boy's dorm. It was great, I just kept texting him requests, and he kept playing them. Next on the agenda was watching Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist at Daniel, Nathan, and Tito's house. It was interesting, I just love Michael Cera (we have a connection that goes all the way back to Arrested Development). And the guy from I'm Reed Fish was also in it. If you have never seen I'm Reed Fish you need to, its a great movie.

I also just put together a new playlist for our new Wednesday night youth series Lovesick. We're using this new curriculum, XP3 and I really like it. It is very helpful for 4 college interns who can't spend a lot of time coming up with lessons. It even gives you a playlist of music that you should play during the mixer time in the beginning, and shockingly (!) it is all secular music!!! oh my! So after putting together a ridiculous mix of Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone and Michelle Branch's All You Wanted, I felt like I needed to detox from all the "pop music" and make a new playlist of music I would actually listen to (although I did sneak some Joshua Radin and Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers into the youth mix, I would like to infiltrate their minds with some quality music (: )

So here is the playlist I will be working out to later this evening:

Coming Down ... The Enemy Lovers (my cousin Tim's band, check them out)
You Found Me...The Fray
Halfway Home...TV on the Radio
Heard em' Say... Kanye and Adam Levine from Maroon 5
Circles...The Enemy Lovers
Chicago (String Remix)... Sufjan Stevens
Until You... Dave Barnes
Come and Find Me...Josh Ritter
Yeah!... Usher (its a must haha)
Airline to Heaven... Wilco
New Soul... Yael Naim
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band... The Beatles
Lovers in Japan/ Reign of Love... Coldplay
Free at Last... DC Talk
Medicate the Kids... Gavin Degraw
Either Way... Guster
Tongues that Possess the Earth Instead...Half- handed Cloud(if you like Sufjan, you will like this)
House by the Sea... Iron and Wine
Only Have One... JJ Heller
Sky ...Joshua Radin

And there you have it, some, but not all of my favorite artists (and some that I just threw in because I thought it would be fun...hence, DC Talk)

I will now proceed to go work up a sweat that will hopefully lead to a shower afterwards...otherwise I'm screwed. :)

(and now I feel like I must apologize for a blog post filled with nonsense, and no witty thoughts or profound statements, just useless words that i placed together to keep myself entertained)

:) till we meet again...
